Girls in Pretty Dresses: An Introduction

I find that today I'm thinking about Easters past. You know, big fluffy pink or baby blue desses. White patent leather shoes. Easter egg hunts. I remember being about 8 or 9 and playing in the church's backyard (a dirt filled lot with like 3 patches of grass) with 2 other girls and a bunch of boys.

We called ourselves looking for more candy-filled Easter eggs, saying that we saw Sister Jackie stash a few in the shed. Lies. That was one of my first experiences exploring in "the shed".

Yes, Easter has a spiritual significance to me. But the Easter season itself (spring) is when I get in the mood to "explore in the shed."

Stuff like that makes me write songs like What to Do With It. Just the fun days of my youth. Isn't that what hip hop is all about?
